New public technical vocational education institution to open in Comrat

A modern Moldovan-Turkish college will be opened in Comrat. In this regard, the government today approved a draft law on the ratification of the Protocol of cooperation in the technical vocational education with the Government of the Republic of Turkey.

Specialties in the information technologies, electrical, and electronic technologies will be launched there. The language of instruction will be Romanian, but with the agreement of both parties, certain subjects may be studied in Turkish or English.

“This protocol, negotiated with the Turkish Government, establishes the legal framework under which the new college is to operate. It is an important step to improve the quality of technical vocational education, and we will make every effort to organize the educational process in the College in Romanian,” stated Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun.

The college building has already been constructed. Subsequently, the Turkish side will ensure the construction of a technical block with fully equipped infrastructure, the equipping of the institution with modern equipment, furniture, laboratories, and technology necessary for the educational process, and the construction of a dormitory for students in a later stage of the project.

The Protocol of cooperation was signed in early May by Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun and his counterpart Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey.
