Families hit by fire in Chisinau suburbs may collect initial aid of 10,000 lei
The families hit by the fire in Durlesti (Chisinau suburbs) can benefit from the initial aid of 10,000 lei, announced by the government. The payment can be collected at postal offices by family members identified as apartment owners.
The aid is available at post offices in Durlesti and across the entire Chisinau municipality, upon presentation of an identity document. Payments can be collected till June 30.
Thus, each family will receive this initial aid, in order to cover urgent expenses and primary needs. Many families have been left without electricity and gas, making it impossible to live in the affected apartments. In addition, 250 vouchers have been distributed, valued between 500 and 2,000 lei, for essential goods.
"What happened in Durlesti is a tragedy, and we, on behalf of Moldova’s government, will take care of each family affected by the fire. This is initial aid for the residents, but we will continue to support them and provide all necessary help," said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development informed that, following the fire, the initiation of an inspection by the National Technical Supervision Inspectorate had been ordered.
