Renewable energy installations can be placed on agricultural land

The promulgation decree and the Law amending Land Code No. 22/2024 have been published in the Official Journal.

Thus, the Land Code has been amended to allow the use of agricultural land for the construction of wind installations, battery energy storage systems and biogas installations. The Land Code has been updated with provisions regarding the infrastructure elements that can be placed on agricultural land and are part of these installations.

According to the authorities, the facilities previously granted through the regulatory framework and financing projects have contributed to an eightfold increase in installed renewable energy generation capacities in our country compared to the year 2022.

The document will come into force on 1 April 2025.
