Moldovan Education Ministry introduces mandatory training to prevent plagiarism, fraud at universities
Approximately 18,000 first-year students who have enrolled in undergraduate programmes of higher education institutions from Moldova will take the Academic Ethics and Integrity Module during the current academic year. The course is mandatory for all public and private higher education institutions and aims to prevent plagiarism, fraud and corruption in the academic environment.
According to the Education and Research Ministry (MEC), students will receive a certificate after completing the course. At the same time, passing the module is a prerequisite for participating in the examination session.
The module was developed and is implemented by the MEC. It aims to foster a culture of responsibility and fairness among students, as well as to prevent and combat violations of academic integrity.
According to the ministry, more than 27,000 students participated in this training during the previous academic year.
