Moldovan parliament speaker, Metropolitan of Moldova Vladimir discuss spiritual values, society's unity
The dialogue between the Church and state institutions, the preservation of spiritual values and the promotion of unity in society have been the topics discussed by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova.
According to the speaker, the meeting was a candid one and focused both on the relationship between the Church and state institutions and on the role of spiritual values in society.
“We all want peace and wish to contribute to a more united society, in which care for people, solidarity and human dignity remain fundamental values,” the parliament speaker said.
Metropolitan Vladimir was appointed head of the Diocese of Chisinau and Moldova on July 21, 1989. On December 21, 1992, he was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, a position he has held ever since.
