Online services for submitting, issuing permits restored after cyberattacks in Moldova

Digital public services for entrepreneurs, including the ones for submitting applications and issuing permits, have been restored and are once again available online following cybersecurity incidents recorded during October 22-25.

According to the Electronic Governance Agency (AGE), the services can be accessed through the www.evo.gov.md and www.actpermisiv.gov.md platforms. Authorities said that the governmental infrastructure and security measures had been assessed over the past two days and technical teams worked to restore the systems’ functionality.

Through the automated system for managing and issuing permits, users can apply online for more than 120 types of documents issued by 20 central authorities, as well as submit trade notifications and access public services for the business community managed by 969 local-level authorities.

The available documents include phytosanitary certificates for export or re-export, trade notifications, veterinary health authorizations for transport means, urban planning certificates for design, permits for importing medicines and food safety registration certificates.

AGE notes that specialists are continuing to check and secure the systems, in order to protect data and prevent further attacks. All authorities involved in issuing permits have been informed about the resumption of digital services.

The cybersecurity incidents recorded between October 22 and 25 affected more digital public services, and the attempts sought to extract personal data. In the context, authorities are warning citizens and companies to be alert to possible fraud attempts via phone calls, text messages or emails.

People are urged not to disclose passwords, authentication codes or banking details, not to access suspicious links and not to authorize transactions at the request of unknown individuals.
