New opportunities for tourism cooperation between Moldova and China
Opportunities for developing cooperation in the field of tourism between Moldova and China, as well as the need to include Moldova on the list of recommended destinations for Chinese tourists have been discussed by Ambassador of Moldova to China Petru Frunze and representatives of one of the largest state-owned travel agencies of China.
During the meeting with Guo Rui, Deputy Director of the China Youth Travel Service agency, Petru Frunze presented the tourism potential of Moldova and the main attractions that the country can offer to foreign visitors.
“I presented the main tourist attractions of Moldova; we analyzed the agency’s activity on the European market, as well as the tourism packages it promotes in the countries neighboring Moldova, especially in Romania. One of the topics discussed was the possibility of including Moldova in regional tourist circuits, thus offering Chinese tourists the opportunity to discover the cultural heritage, traditions, wineries and hospitality of our country,” said Ambassador of Moldova to China Petru Frunze.
At the same time, the sides agreed to initiate cooperation between travel agencies of China and Moldova, with a view to developing sustainable partnerships.
“We addressed the need to include Moldova on the list of recommended destinations for Chinese tourists. This would create favorable conditions for travel agencies from China to develop and operate tourism programmes dedicated to Moldova. At present, no travel agency of China includes Moldova in its package offers, which highlights the scale of the work that we are to carry out in this field,” the ambassador added.
According to Ambassador Petru Frunze, tourism development means more than an increase in the number of visitors, as it contributes to economic development, supports the business environment, stimulates investment and strengthens ties between people and between countries.
