Labour and Social Protection Ministry invites Moldovans returning from abroad to information session on social insurances rights

The Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS) invites citizens returning from abroad to an information and dialogue session on social insurances’ rights and the social security agreements to which Moldova is a party.

According to the MMPS, the meeting will take place on August 6, between 15:00 and 17:00.

"During the session, MMPS specialists will provide information about: social insurance rights for citizens from abroad, the provisions of the social security agreements concluded by Moldova and the mechanisms through which these rights can be exercised. Thus, if you are returning home during this period, it will be a good opportunity to talk directly with ministry specialists and receive answers to your questions," the MMPS said.

To date, Moldova has signed 23 social security agreements, 18 of which are already in force. In recent years, the MMPS has concluded social agreements with Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Latvia, France, Switzerland, Canada and Ukraine.

Under these agreements, Moldovan citizens may receive old-age pensions, disability pensions caused by general illnesses, pensions and benefits for disabilities resulting from work accidents or occupational diseases, as well as survivor’s pensions and other benefits.
