Japanese art exhibition opened at museum in Chisinau
Chisinau, January 26 / MOLDPRES /- Japanese art exhibition inaugurated in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova and the Japanese Foundation was inaugurated yesterday at the National Museum of Art of Moldova.
Attending the event, Ambassador of Japan to Chisinau Yoshihiro Katayama said that the opening of the exhibition marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Moldovan-Japanese diplomatic relations, and the Foundation of Japan, which is the basis of the artistic concept, creates this exhibition to promote and increase interest in Japanese art and culture.Institution's director Tudor Zbârnea said that the exhibition presents 38 kogei (handicrafts) from the 19th century to the present, consisting of the works of 12 contemporary artists and three from the Meiji period.
The works of Satoshi Araki, Riusuke Fukahori, Kimiyo Mishima and Yoshihiro Suda are based on the insatiable search for realism, while Naoki Nishiwaki's work conveys the supreme monotony of repetition. The use of highly skilled techniques can be seen especially in the works of Takeshi Kitamura, Kazuhiro Yamamoto and Hiroaki Umeda. Naoki Honjo, Takahiro Iwasaki, Yasuhiro Suzuki and Akira Yamaguchi combine concept and technical ingenuity to transform the values and even the world we perceive. By showcasing these works, the exhibition serves to showcase the amazing techniques and creative ingenuity that go beyond such aspects, which bring to light a part of Japan's creative culture that is fully performing in terms of the production process.
The exhibition will be open in Chisinau until March 6.
