DOC // Moldova prepares national aviation sector for implementation of Single European Sky requirements

The Republic of Moldova is preparing its national aviation sector to implement the requirements of the Single European Sky and to gradually integrate into the European air traffic management system.

The new requirements are incorporated into the Implementing Regulation on the Single European Sky, which was published in the Official Journal today.

The document establishes responsibilities regarding the regulation, supervision and provision of air traffic services, communications, navigation and surveillance, meteorology and aeronautical information, air traffic data and digital services.

According to the authorities, the new rules will enable more efficient traffic management, the optimization of flight routes and increased air connectivity, contributing to the sustainable development of national civil aviation.

The Implementing Regulation on the Single European Sky will enter into force on December 31, 2028, allowing the sector to prepare for the new requirements.

The Single European Sky initiative was launched in 1999 with the aim of reducing the fragmentation of European airspace between member states, between civil and military uses, and between different technologies, thereby improving the performance of air traffic management and air navigation services.
