Electricity exchange contract signed between Romania, Moldova
Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- Transport and System Operators, Transelectrica and Moldelectrica signed today in Bucharest the contract that will allow the allocation of capacity for the commercial exchange of electricity on the interconnection line between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
"Commercial exchanges of electricity with the Republic of Moldova will begin immediately after the completion of the entire process involving the harmonization of technical details and commercial aspects. Thus, the first electricity transactions between Romania and the Republic of Moldova are estimated for October this year", indicates the Romanian National Electric Energy Transport Company.
The successful implementation of the electricity trading process on the interconnection between countries represents a commitment of support between the two Transport and System Operators and also contributes to the development and proper functioning of the energy market at the European level.
On March 16, 2022, the power systems of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova were successfully synchronized with the European power system.
