Energocom company accedes to top of biggest companies from South Eastern Europe, ranks second in terms of most dynamic development
Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom commercial company has been included, for the first time ever, in the ranking of the biggest companies from the South Eastern Europe. It is the first and the only company of Moldova to accede to this top. With practically doubled incomes in 2023, of about 890 million euros, Energocom was on the position 100 in the general ranking and ranked second in terms of the most dynamic development in the South Eastern Europe.
The ranking for the 2023 year was compiled by the SEE News publication, based on the incomes of the enterprises and is dominated by companies from the oil and gas sector. For the third year in a row, the first position is held by OMV Petrom from Romania, followed by Petrol d.d. from Slovenia and Automotive Dacia of Romania. In all, Romania has 53 commercial companies in a top of 100 ones, while Moldova only one.
The company, controlled by the state 100 per cent, entered this top for the first time ever, getting on the position 100. The SEE TOP 100 includes non-financial companies registered in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia şi Slovenia.
The acting director of Energocom, Victor Binzari, said that the acceding to this top represented an appreciation made by the enterprise and by Moldova in general, in order to ensure its energy security and to deliver electric energy and gas uninterruptedly at market prices.
„The multiple efforts of strengthening the country’s energy security and of making a dedicated team were appreciated. We have worked a lot in the last two years, in order to develop the capacities of Energocom to be active in the region (from Poland up to Greece). Energocom is set to diversify, in continuation, the routes of supply with energy resources at accessible prices. This is a stimulus for us and we will work more, in order to consolidate our position on market,’’ Victor Binzari also said.
According to Energocom, the ranking’s authors ‘’appreciated the efforts of Moldova’s detachment from the Russian energy monopoly, of development of the alternative routes and purchasing of gas from European traders at competitive prices.’’
The Energocom Company was set up in 2004.
