Moldovan PM has meeting with Executive Vice President of European Commission for Social Rights, Skills, Quality Jobs and Training

The cooperation in the social sector, education and Moldova’s active participation in European initiatives for youth and social inclusion have been discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Executive Vice President of the European Commission for Social Rights, Skills, Quality Jobs, and Training, Roxana Minzatu.

PM Dorin Recean thanked the European official for the support provided in the process of Moldova's accession to the large European family. He noted that, on the social dimension, the government was focused on implementing more initiatives to stimulate the labor market.

“To ensure equal opportunities, we are developing childcare services and equating parental leave conditions, which will allow mothers to re-enter the workforce quickly,” said the prime minister. Recean also emphasized the need of widely using data and modern digital systems for effectively targeting social assistance.

“We are friends of Moldova; efforts and results are visible, which makes us provide more and more support. We are always in contact to see how we can better assist you,” said Vice President Roxana Minzatu, for her part.

As for the educational system, Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed that   Moldova wanted more active participation in Erasmus+ programs. In the context, Vice President Roxana Minzatu assured that she would support Moldova to become an Erasmus member next year, so that young people of the country have more opportunities.

Executive Vice President of the European Commission Roxana Minzatu is on her first official visit to Moldova. The agenda includes both meetings with officials and encounters with students and community members who have benefited from European Union’s support.
