President Maia Sandu today participated in the Cherry Festival, organized in Truseni settlement, Chisinau municipality. Locals and guests of the event enjoyed music, traditional dishes and good cheer.
The head of state emphasized that the cherry orchards had become part of the village's identity and the local producers were known throughout the country.
‘’I was delighted to be in Truseni today, at the Cherry Festival - a celebration that has become a nice tradition and brings together people from the village and surroundings, with music, cherries and much good cheer. The cherry orchards have become part of the locality's identity. The local producers, known throughout the country, learn to adapt and manage even when weather conditions are not friendly,’’ said Maia Sandu.
The official noted that the locality of Truseni was growing and developing, with hardworking people contributing to its development.
‘’This is what a community looks like, that doesn't stand still, but always finds solutions and builds its future with its own hands,’’ said Maia Sandu.
The Cherry Festival has already become a traditional event in the locality of Truseni, gathering locals, artists and craftsmen year after year, in order to celebrate local identity.
The event is at its fourth edition and is organized by the Truseni commune mayoralty.
