Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport serves over 761,000 passengers in last September

The Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport in last September served 761,886 passengers, 17.9 per cent more against the same month last year. This represents an increase of 115,927 passengers.

According to data published by the airport’s administration, passenger traffic exceeded the forecast for September by 113,886 people. The monthly forecast was reached at a rate of 117.6 per cent.

The number of departing passengers increased by 17.1 per cent compared with September 2025, while the number of arriving passengers was 18.9 per cent higher.

“The most significant increases in traffic were recorded on flights to Tel Aviv, with 8,931 additional passengers, Istanbul—with 7,441, Yerevan—with 6,765, Paris—with 6,186, and Athens—with 5,890 passengers. New destinations accounted for 26,635 passengers in September, representing approximately 3.5mper cent of the airport’s total traffic. Among the most popular new destinations were Bratislava, Batumi, Sofia, Corfu, Rimini, and Rhodes,” the cited source said.

During the same period, the Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport recorded 4,936 aircraft movements, 5.1 per cent more than in September 2025.

Air cargo transport also increased. The volume of freight transported reached 311.8 tons, 23.1 per cent more than during the same period last year.
