Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry rejects claims made by Russia’s representative to OSCE on alleged “militarization” of Moldova: “They are false and unfounded”

The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) rejects the claims made by the representative of the Russian Federation to the OSCE on the alleged “militarization” of Moldova and the transformation of the country into a “logistics hub” for Ukraine. The authorities describe the statements as “false and unfounded.”

According to the MAE, claims regarding alleged drones’ transport routes, drone assembly capabilities, or medical centers meant for the Ukrainian army do not correspond to reality and are not supported by evidence.

“A similar piece of false information, concerning the alleged landing in Chisinau of an aircraft carrying military drones meant for Ukraine, was recently debunked by the StopFals.md fact-checking portal. We regret the use of the OSCE platform to promote such falsehoods against Moldova,” the institution emphasized.

At the same time, the MAE notes that the real risks to the security of Moldova are generated by the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

“The most recent incident, which occurred on October 5 near the Palanca border crossing point, caused material damage and injured an employee of the Border Police. Moldova is a peaceful and neutral state and will continue to act to protect its citizens, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the MAE said.

In the context, the Moldovan authorities urged the Russian Federation to cease “disinformation and intimidation rhetoric against Moldova and to respect international law and the commitments undertaken within the OSCE.”
