VIDEO // Country's energy resource supply amid state of emergency: Energy Minister presents updated information

Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu presented updated information today on the Republic of Moldova's supply of energy resources amid the state of emergency in the energy sector.

Regarding fuel, the minister emphasized that current stocks cover approximately 30 days of gasoline consumption and 10 days of diesel consumption. Over the past 24 hours, approximately 620 tons of COR 95 gasoline from Bulgaria and 3,000 tons of diesel originating from Romania, Saudi Arabia, and India entered the country.

Regarding the electricity supply, the minister noted that 33 percent of the forecast consumption of approximately 12,000 MWh will be covered by domestic production, largely from renewable sources. Another 32% will come from Ukraine, while 35% will come from Romania.

At the same time, the minister announced that the TTF reference price for natural gas stood at 69 euros/MWh this morning, down from the previous day. According to the official, one of the factors influencing the market is reducing gas consumption in China, which means less pressure on the volumes of LNG available on the international market.

Meanwhile, Europe's gas storage facilities are approximately 71% full, below the five-year average of 87%.

In the Republic of Moldova, total consumption by households, businesses, and district heating plants amounted to approximately 1 million cubic meters of gas yesterday.

The Republic of Moldova has been under a state of emergency in the energy sector since September 26.
