IMF expert team visits Chișinău for annual consultations
An expert team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Alina Iancu will visit the Republic of Moldova on December 4-17, 2025 for annual discussions under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement.
According to the IMF Resident Representative Office in Chișinău, the mission's main purpose is to analyze recent economic developments, assess macroeconomic prospects and risks, and discuss policy and reform priorities with national authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
In accordance with Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement, the organization conducts annual bilateral consultations with member countries. During this period, experts collect economic and financial data, review ongoing policies, and hold discussions with authorities regarding the country's economic situation.
At the end of the visit, the team returns to Washington, where they prepare a detailed report. This document serves as the basis for discussions within the IMF Executive Board regarding the economic situation of the Republic of Moldova and the associated recommendations.
