15 citizens of the Republic of Moldova in Middle East requested consular assistance from diplomatic missions
The diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in the Middle East have received 15 requests for consular assistance from Moldovan citizens in recent days, in the context of the tense situation in the region.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recent days the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel has handled eight requests from citizens located on Israeli territory.
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the State of Qatar (also accredited to the State of Kuwait) has received five requests for assistance: four from Qatar and one from Kuwait.
The Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (also accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain) has provided direct consular support to two citizens related to accommodation issues, which have already been resolved. In addition, the mission responded to 96 phone calls that did not require consular intervention, providing information on security, the status of the airspace and operative clarifications. The \
Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Moldovan citizens in the region remain in safe locations, avoid non-essential travel and contact the diplomatic missions in case of emergency situations.
