Moldovan carriers to receive additional 300 permits for routes to Azerbaijan

The National Road Transport Agency (ANTA) has announced that the Republic of Azerbaijan has granted an additional quota of 300 bilateral transit permits for Moldovan road freight transport operators.

The permits were obtained following negotiations between the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and those of the Republic of Azerbaijan and allow for the international transport of goods on Azerbaijani territory.

ANTA noted that the permits were issued by the Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and will be valid until January 31, 2027.

Representatives of the agency state that the increase in the quota reflects cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries in the field of international road transport.

The decision aims to support the activities of transport operators and facilitate international freight transport between the Republic of Moldova and Azerbaijan, including in transit.
