Wheat export requirements from Moldova to Indonesia to be amended starting 1 June

The phytosanitary requirements for wheat exports from the Republic of Moldova to Indonesia will be amended starting 1 June. The new conditions establish a set of general and specific requirements regarding phytosanitary certification, processing and transport conditions, as well as measures to prevent phytosanitary risks.

Thus, wheat consignments exported to Indonesia will still have to be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), but with additional declarations and electronic notifications issued by ANSA; they must come from export units registered by ANSA; be free of infestations and contaminants, including soil, weeds or plant residues; and be subjected to fumigation treatment in accordance with programs established by the Indonesian side.

At the same time, the Indonesian authorities will carry out mandatory phytosanitary inspections at designated points of entry, and shipments may be directed exclusively to storage and processing units approved by the competent authority in Indonesia.

The new requirements also include a list of harmful organisms of phytosanitary concern, for which the absence of infestation or infection is required.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry recommends that all exporters carefully review the new provisions and cooperate with the National Food Safety Agency in order to ensure compliance with the phytosanitary requirements imposed by the Indonesian side.

Until June 1, all previously established phytosanitary requirements remain in force, including the obligation to carry out treatment in the country of origin.
