New director of Railway of Moldova enterprise appointed
The Railway of Moldova enterprise (CFM) will be led by Sergiu Cotelnic. The candidacy of the new director today morning was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea.
Vladimir Bolea said the proposal had come from trade unions and described Cotelnic as capable of leading this strategic sector.
“He is a born railwayman, coming from a family where the parents worked at the Railway, he knows this sector closely. He comes from the system, with a new vision, character, capability and the will to work for the benefit of the people,” the deputy prime minister noted.
According to the official, things at CFM need to be changed, people need to receive their salaries and the government will support the new director, so that he can cope with the things.
“We ruled to provide him with diesel from the state reserve for the next four months, as we understand that CFM's objective is freight transportation, financial resources are quite limited and the government wants the enterprise to be functional,” Bolea said.
For his part, Sergiu Cotelnic said he already had ideas on how to pay employees' salaries and that he would activate all technical resources to optimize the CFM's work.
The position of director of the Railway of Moldova became vacant after the former head, Serghei Tomsa, had resigned two weeks ago.
