Head of NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau says Security Forum generates valuable ideas, due to help Moldova become more resilient, safer

The Security Forum generated valuable ideas that will help Moldova become more resilient and safer, thereby contributing to strengthening security in the region, in Europe and even beyond its borders. The head of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova, Agne Gleveckaite, has made statements to this effect at the conclusion of the Security Forum.

According to the official, discussions during the event confirmed that the security challenges facing Moldova and the Black Sea region are interconnected.

“We heard about the impact of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. We will continue to remain vigilant and identify ways to defend ourselves. During these discussions, we heard that resilience is no longer something we should think about later, but something that must be placed first,” Agne Gleveckaite said.

She highlighted the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen resilience, protect democratic institutions and ensure a stable future for Moldova and the Euro-Atlantic community.

“Partnership matters — this is an important message both for NATO and for Moldova! We are stronger together,” Agne Gleveckaite concluded.

The 2026 Security Forum of Moldova took place in Chisinau on October 8–9, bringing together more than 700 participants from the country and both sides of the Atlantic, including politicians, military leaders, experts, civil society representatives and members of the press.

The third edition of the forum is held under the theme, Strengthening Democratic Resilience and Security through Strategic Vision and Multilateral Cooperation, amid increasingly complex security challenges for Moldova and the region.
