Eight violations of Moldova’s Airspace recorded in recent days; five cause explosions on ground

Eight incidents involving violations of Moldova’s airspace were recorded during October 3-9, this year, amid the Russian Federation’s attacks on Ukraine. Five of them resulted in explosions on the ground.

According to the Defense Ministry, the five overflights that resulted in explosions on the ground were reported in the city of Causeni, the village of Constantinovca (Causeni District), the village of Crocmaz (Stefan Voda District), the village of Puhaceni (Anenii Noi District), and the village of Dubovca (Hancesti District). All incidents involving explosions and fires occurred on October 3.

Three other unauthorized overflights were recorded on October 3 and 7 in the Palanca area (Stefan Voda District) and in the village of Pervomaisc, in the Transnistrian segment.

Since the beginning of 2026, 56 incidents involving violations of Moldova’s airspace have been recorded, while starting from 2022 till present, their number has reached 93.

The Defense Ministry urges people who identify drones, missiles, or fragments thereof not to approach or touch the objects. Such cases must be reported immediately to the competent authorities by calling the emergency service at 112.
