Moldovan infrastructure minister has meeting with Romanian Senate president

Deputy Prime Minister, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Vladimir Bolea today had a meeting President of Romania’s Senate Ilie Bolojan in Bucharest. The officials discussed joint steps to strengthen economic, logistical, and legislative relations between Moldova and Romania.

The topics addressed directly concrete support for economic development and infrastructural connectivity.

‘’It is about the export of scrap iron from Romania to Moldova - we analyzed the possibility of extending rail transport, not only road, by modifying the regulatory framework; joint control at the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points - for more efficient flow of goods and passengers; transposing European legislation and implementing modern software in the automotive sector - with Romania's support, for digitalization and compliance; modernizing railway infrastructure and opening new transport routes Moldova-Romania - to reduce economic distances and enhance access to the European market,’’ said Vladimir Bolea.

According to the deputy PM, on the immediately next period, an event will be organized at the headquarters of the Romanian Senate with freight and passenger transport operators from Romania, in order to present the commercial and logistical opportunities Moldova.

‘’These actions are part of a broad effort for real integration into the European market through Romania - our strategic partner,’’ Vladimir Bolea added.
