BTA: Bulgarian Funding to Improve Kindergarten Yard in Moldova's Cairaclia
The yard of the kindergarten "Slanchitse" in the village of Cairaclia, Taraclia region, Moldova, will be landscaped with Bulgarian support under a project worth EUR 14,613.64, the non-governmental organization (NGO) "Bastinasii Cairaclienii" announced on Wednesday.
The organization won the project under the Programme for Support to Organizations of Bulgarian Communities in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine and Moldova, as well as to Citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia with Bulgarian Identity.
The agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Maya Dobreva and the Chair of the NGO "Bastinasii Cairaclienii", Nina Topalova.
The signing of the document by the Moldovan organization at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Chisinau was attended by the advisor to the Village Council of the village of Cairaclia, Maria Danu, co-author of the project, together with the director of the kindergarten, Snezhana Bondarenko, and the representative of the Embassy, Teodor Savov, Topalova specified for BTA.
The project envisages laying paving slabs in the yard of the kindergarten. The organization indicates that this will make the space safer, more comfortable and welcoming for children.
The deadline for the implementation of the project is until November 30.
The NGO "Bastinasii Cairaclienii" expressed gratitude to the Government of Bulgaria and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Moldova for the support and for the opportunity for the Bulgarian communities in Moldova to implement important initiatives for their settlements.
The village of Cairaclia is among the settlements in Moldova with a Bulgarian majority. According to data from the 2024 census, 1,154 people live there, of whom 841, or 72.9%, identified themselves as Bulgarians by nationality.
