Moldovan PM visits Chisinau Electrical Substation, in final preparation stage

The Government of the Republic of Moldova

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan today visited the Chisinau Electrical Substation, as part of the 400 kV Vulcanesti–Chisinau overhead power line project, which is in its final stage. The PM was briefed on the progress of the modernization works, the equipment installed and the deadlines for commissioning the facility.

The transformer sent for repairs to the manufacturer’s plant in Spain has been returned to the country, installed and tested. The equipment ensures the substation’s connection to the 330 kV grid.

Comprehensive final testing of the equipment and systems is currently underway at the electrical substation.

The Vulcanesti–Chisinau overhead power line is 157 kilometers long and connects the 400 kV Vulcanesti Substation with the 330 kV Chisinau Substation. The project is financed by the World Bank, as part of the Power System Development Project.
