Moldovan PM, Ambassador of State of Qatar discuss investments, expanding bilateral economic cooperation
Attracting Qatari investments, energy cooperation, and expanding trade have been the main topics discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Moldova Turki Abdullah Al-Mahmou.
In the energy sector, the discussions focused on cooperation opportunities to strengthen Moldova’s energy security and develop renewable energy projects. The sides also examined possibilities of attracting investments in information technology and healthcare. The ambassador confirmed the interest of the Qatar Investment Authority in projects in these sectors, which could be developed with Qatari capital participation.
Another topic of the meeting was expanding access for Moldovan products to the Qatari market, particularly agri-food products. In the context, the interlocutors discussed attracting investments in agriculture and modernizing processing infrastructure, in order to increase Moldova’s production and export capacity.
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized that Moldova and the State of Qatar were two friendly countries and expressed interest in harnessing cooperation opportunities through concrete projects that would contribute to economic development and bring benefits to both countries.
