Moldovan government updates National Programme for Moldova's Accession to European Union
The main strategic planning document guiding the necessary reforms for Moldova 's accession to the European Union has been updated by the government.
The update of the National Programme for Accession to the European Union for the period 2025–2029 was necessary, in order to integrate the recommendations from the European Commission's 2025 Enlargement Report, as well as the new commitments undertaken by the country in the accession negotiation process.
The programme will be complemented with the necessary legislative measures to align national legislation with EU standards and concrete actions for implementation and strengthening institutional capacities. The programme will also include roadmaps for public administration reform, the rule of law, and the work of democratic institutions, as well as the reform agenda from the Growth Plan 2025–2027.
The updated programme provides a unified and coherent vision of reforms, establishes institutional responsibilities, deadlines and mechanisms for monitoring progress, including through digital tools.
The implementation of the National Programme for Accession will contribute to modernizing public administration, improving services for citizens, enhancing economic competitiveness and bringing Moldova closer to European living standards.
The update of the programme was carried out following extensive consultations with public authorities, civil society, the business community and academic circles.
