Discussions on implementation of Berlin Plus Package held in Chisinau
Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, had a working meeting today with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Claus Neukirch, where there were discussed several issues related to the implementation of the Berlin Plus Package and Rome Protocol, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
Among the topics of the meeting of the two officials, the issue of Latin – script teaching was an important one, particularly due to the recent discussion of the need to implement the ECHR Decision in the case of Catan versus Moldova and Russia.
Cristina Lesnic pointed out that she would insist on the constructive initiative proposed to Tiraspol to exclude prior notification for students and teachers of Latin – script schools and their parents. The right to education is inherent, and the exclusion of children from the political environment must allow them to develop equally with other peers.
The subject of gas, electricity and other administrative charges has been perceived as a differentiation from other schools in the region and a difficulty that needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
In the context of the mechanism for registration of the means of transport in the Transnistrian region, as well as following the working session on transport that took place between Chisinau and Tiraspol on 26 September, it was approached a wide spectrum of details related to the functionality of the mechanism, operational efficiency, dynamics and other relevant issues.
It was agreed that in the near future, a working meeting of the ambassadors of other states accredited in the Republic of Moldova would be useful in the field of international traffic of drivers from the Transnistrian region in October this year.
There is to remind that on 10 September 2018, there were issued the first provisional certificates to new holders, which at the beginning of October 2018 could move outside Moldova on the basis of new neutral registration numbers.
The distinct topics discussed included the convening of the working subgroup on human rights, agricultural land, telecommunications, including the organisation of discussions on the work of the Moldovan delegation in the Joint Control Commission (CUC).
The dialogue was constructive and oriented to find common solutions for the benefit of population.
