Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration has meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri has had a meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Christophe Kamp. The discussions focused on the current situation in the Transnistrian region, developments in the settlement process, as well as the measures undertaken by Moldova’s authorities to protect the rights and interests of the region’s residents.
The deputy PM reiterated the government's commitment to the gradual and peaceful reintegration of the country through the expansion of public services, the strengthening of ties between citizens and national institutions and the uniform enforcement of Moldova’s legislation throughout the entire territory of the country. Valeriu Chiveri underlined the importance of promoting dialogue, respecting human rights and ensuring equitable access to education, social services and other opportunities for all citizens.
The Moldovan official noted that the European integration process of Moldova provided a favorable framework for the modernization of the country, sustainable economic development and the reduction of disparities between the two banks of the Dniester River.
The interlocutors highlighted the need to continue cooperation and maintain a constant dialogue in support of peace, stability and the sustainable reintegration of the country.
