European Commissioner for Environment expected on first visit to Moldova

European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and Competitive Circular Economy Jessika Roswall will pay first official visit to the Republic of Moldova on 29-30 June 2026.

According to the EU Delegation to Chisinau, the visit agenda includes meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, representatives of the Government, environmental NGOs, young people and women leaders. The discussions will focus on issues related to environmental protection, sustainable water resource management, and the European path of the Republic of Moldova.

On the first day of the visit, the Commissioner will take part in the first edition of the “Green Finance and Investment Forum Moldova 2026”, dedicated to accelerating the transition to a green, competitive and resource-efficient economy. At 14:30, Commissioner Roswall will hold a joint press conference with the Minister of Environment, Gheorghe Hajder.

On the second day of the visit, the Commissioner will travel to Capriana, where she will visit the wastewater treatment plant, the new sewage network and the Capriana Monastery, which is connected to this network.

This is the first visit to our country by the European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall.
