Joint Control Commission holds weekly meeting in Bender
Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Joint Control Commission (JCC) today continued its meeting interrupted last Thursday. At that time, the delegates from the left bank of Dniester left the session, in order to hinder an eventual decision on the issue of posts and armed servicemen unilaterally set in the Security Zone, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Moldova’s delegation maintains its firm position that the posts must be removed. At the same time, to overcome the obstacles emerged at the discussions on the concerned subject, the Chisinau delegation made new proposals meant to contribute to the adoption of a construction decision to this end.
Being uninterested in de-blocking the situation, the Transnistrian delegation members preserved the provocative rhetoric, launched aberrant charges against Chisinau’s representatives, noting that they continue carrying out in the Security Zone measures which are not coordinated with the Joint Control Commission.
To combat the attempts by Tiraspol representatives to distort the work of the Joint Military Command, Moldova’s Delegation made a call to the other participants in the Commission. The document unmasks the deliberate distortion by Transnistrian component of the actions undertaken within the Joint Military Command, in connection with the incident which occurred in the Vladimirovca settlement on 5 June. At that time, Tiraspol informed about a so-called ‘’attack’’ with drone against one of its military units; yet, it did not asked for the immediate movement of military of Joint Peacekeeping Forces to the site, but neither they allowed the access of the OSCE Mission’s monitoring team.
No decisions were approved at the JCC meeting, with the discussions postponed for the next week.
