
Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister meets delegation of advisors from United States Congress
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with a delegation of advisors from the United States Congress, who were on a fact-collecting visit to the Republic of Moldova.
The discussions focused on the parliamentary elections of 28 September 2025, with an emphasis on the risks of external interference from the Russian Federation through disinformation campaigns, funded protests and electoral corruption. The Moldovan official also presented our country's progress on joining the European Union and highlighted the impact of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine on the Republic of Moldova.
The sides exchanged views on the consistent support of the United States in strengthening the economic and energy resilience of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the assistance provided in managing challenges in the security, defense and cybersecurity.
Popșoi emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue with representatives of the US Congress, which contributes to the strengthening of Moldovan-American relations and supports the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
