The Police of Moldova have launched a process of modernization of the operational activities by digitizing the drafting of reports directly in the field. Officers are equipped with tablets and mobile printers, allowing for electronic completion and signing of documents without needing to go to the station.
According to the institution, the information entered by police officers is automatically transmitted to the information system and citizens receive a printed copy of the report on-site through the mobile printer. This measure reduces processing time, eliminates bureaucracy and provides more transparency in the relationship between the police and citizens.
The authorities claim that the implementation of this technological solution aims to streamline interventions, enhance public trust and align with European best practices in the field.
The digitization of public services in Moldova is part of the governmental strategy for modernization and adaptation to European Union’s standards. In recent years, the authorities have introduced electronic solutions in various sectors, including tax services, healthcare and civil status documents. Implementing new digital tools in police operations is an additional step towards reducing bureaucracy and enhancing citizen-oriented quality of services.
