Moldova strengthens economic and security partnerships at Antalya Diplomacy Forum
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu participated on Friday, April 17, in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, at the invitation of the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The event brought together political leaders, diplomats, and international experts, providing a platform for dialogue on regional and global challenges.
On the sidelines of the forum, the head of state held talks with President Erdoğan. The discussions focused on expanding access for Moldovan products to the Turkish market, attracting new investments, and deepening cooperation in the field of security. Türkiye is the second-largest destination for Moldovan exports after Romania, and the fourth-largest investor in Moldova’s economy, after Romania, Germany, and France. The situation in Gagauzia was also addressed — the protection of the Gagauz language and culture, and joint support for the development of the region.
Maia Sandu also held meetings with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, and the Bosnian head of state, Denis Bećirović. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral partnerships, economic cooperation, including in the energy sector, and facilitating access for Moldovan products to foreign markets.
The head of state reaffirmed Moldova’s firm commitment to advancing on the European path and building strong relationships for the benefit of its citizens.
