Head of State to pay official visit to Ireland, which will hold rotating presidency of Council of European Union starting July
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Ireland on 8 April. The agenda includes meetings with President of Ireland Catherine Connolly, Prime Minister Micheál Martin, alongside whom the head of state will hold a press conference, and with Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, in the context in which Ireland will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting 1 July.
The head of state will also have meetings in the Irish Parliament and will take part in a public discussion at Trinity College Dublin. Maia Sandu will also meet with Moldovan citizens living in Ireland.
