Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today received the new Bucharest-based Spanish Ambassador to Moldova Ramiro Fernández Bachiller, the government's communication and media relations department has reported

The two officials tackled the Moldovan-Spanish ties, cooperation in the international structures and prospects of expanding the bilateral collaboration.

Leanca underlined that the position of Spain - state which backs the idea of expanding the European Union - was important for Moldova's future and its prospect to join the European family. „We have a huge potential to enhance the ties with Spain at the political, economic, as well as the cultural and humanitarian levels. I am confident that we will manage to achieve this goal and the fact that you speak Romanian is an additional argument in this respect,” Leanca said.

For his part, Ramiro Fernández Bachiller underscored that he would contribute to boost the ties between the two states, make more dynamic the trade exchanges and mutual investments, as well as to promote the Spanish culture in Moldova. In the context, the official specified that Spain was willing to support even more the educational projects and those on studying the Spanish language in Moldova.

„Spain is a devoted ally of Moldova. We back Moldova's territorial integrity, as well as the European integration. We are open to share our experience during the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement and European standards in Moldova. And I am here to work together with the Moldovan authorities, in order to foster the Moldovan-Spanish relations, which have a promising future,” Bachiller said.

The sides agreed to maintain a permanent dialogue.
