"Today, on International Labor Day, the authorities pay tribute to all those who work honestly and contribute, day by day, to the development of the country. It is a day that reminds us that legal work means not only a secure income, but also respect for human rights, social protection and the chance for a dignified life. The government reaffirms its commitment to support workers through public policies that bring more equity and security in the workplace. The minimum and average salaries have been increased by 87 per cent and 75 per cent, respectively, compared to 2021, and the unemployment rate is declining. Women are increasingly represented in the economy - with an employment rate of 41.7 per cent in 2024, compared to only 34 per cent in 2019," said Daniel Voda.

He also said that the fight against undeclared work was a priority for the authorities.

"The platform www.lucrezlegal.md, launched by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection along with the State Labor Inspectorate and supported by the International Labor Organization, gives any employee possibility to report irregularities, free of charge and confidentially. Each of us deserves a safe and fairly paid job. Choose to work legally – for yourself, for your family and for Moldova's future," said Daniel Voda.

Today, Moldova marks the International Labor Day. The holiday is dedicated to recognizing the efforts and contributions of each worker to the country's development.
