Photovoltaic parks to be built in five settlements of Moldova, with EU investments worth 12.3 million euros
Photovoltaic parks will be built in five settlements of Moldova, with an investment of 12.3 million euros provided by the European Union. This initiative is part of the project, EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities and will contribute to strengthening local energy security.
The photovoltaic installations will be located in the localities of Mereni, Anenii Noi; Cosnita, Criuleni; Lozova, Straseni; Larga, Briceni; Sipoteni, Calarasi. Each park will have a capacity of up to 200 kW and will be equipped with modern video monitoring systems, perimeter lighting, and security fences, observing the European quality and safety standards.
The beneficiary localities were selected following a public grant call launched in July 2024. Through these investments, communities will be able to produce green energy for their own consumption, reduce expenses from the local budget and help protect the environment by reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions.
At the same time, Smart Villages projects will be implemented in these localities, in order to modernize infrastructure and local public services, supporting sustainable development and community resilience.
“We are investing in green energy for a safe and independent future. These photovoltaic parks will provide clean energy and help communities become more resilient to current energy challenges,” said project manager Nicolae Soloviov.
Construction and connection to the power network are estimated to be completed by September 2025.
The EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
