Moldova, USA to sign agreement for development of air transport
Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the signing of an agreement on the air transport between the governments of Moldova and the United States.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the agreement implies the liberalization of the air services’ market between the two sides, facilitating the access of both states’ air companies, attraction of investments in the field, as well as the delivery of air services with no restrictions. Although presently no Moldovan air company makes flights to the United States, the legal framework created by this agreement can facilitate the development of the traffic between Moldova and the USA.
At the same time, premises will be created for the launch of direct flights from Chisinau to destinations from the United States and the air services of Moldova will be diversified.
The setting up of an open aviation area with the USA will being economic benefits for Moldova, through increasing the traffic of passengers and enhancing the competition on the native market.
