
Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets ambassador of Italy
Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The finishing of the domestic procedures for the entrance into force of the amendments to the agreement on the conversion of driver’s licences, as well as the need to sign agreements in the social protection sector, recognition of the education titles and the promotion and protection of investments were discussed at a today’s meeting between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service, the officials highlighted the excellent relations in diverse fields, as well as the prospects for strengthening the Moldovan-Italian political dialogue and sectoral cooperation. At the same time, the sides tackled the issue of collaboration within international and regional organizations, especially the Central European Initiative, the chairmanship of which is presently held by Italy. In the context, the officials noted the organization of the Central European Initiative’s Summit, due in Rome on 19 November.
The Moldovan diplomacy head reviewed the priorities of the current government, emphasizing the cabinet’s determination to press ahead with the implementation of reforms and fighting corruption. In the context, the minister appreciated Italy’s support in the process of Moldova’s modernization.
Ambassador Valeria Biagiotti voiced confidence that the Moldovan-Italian cooperation would consolidate in the long run. She reconfirmed Italy’s commitment to continue providing Moldova with assistance in diverse sectors.
