Moldovan vaccinated citizens can travel to Hungary without quarantine from 1 June

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- To facilitate the unrestricted movement of vaccinated Moldovan and Hungarian citizens, especially during the summer period, without the obligation of isolation or testing, the Moldovan government and the government of Hungary have agreed on the mutual recognition of official anti-Covid-19 immunization certificates, issued by competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Hungary, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The decision on the mutual recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates is fully in line with the strategic partnership between the two states that underpins the Moldovan-Hungarian relations, as a sign of solidarity and mutual support in the common direction of identifying effective solutions on trends to improve the pandemic situation in the region.
The effective measures taken by the authorities of the two states will allow the unrestricted movement of vaccinated Moldovan and Hungarian citizens to or through Hungary and the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the Republic of Moldova and Hungary will guarantee to the citizens holding the official certificates of immunization, entry or transit without restrictions the territory of the Republic of Moldova and Hungary. At the same time, according to the agreed agreements, children under the age of 18, who will accompany the holders of immunization certificates will enjoy the same rights of entry or transit of the territory.
In this context, the head of Moldovan diplomacy, Aureliu Ciocoi, sent a message of appreciation to Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó for the readiness of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to respond to the request of the Republic of Moldova in a short time, which will allow solving the problem on facilitation of the movement of vaccinated Moldovan citizens without the obligation of isolation or testing.
Hungary is the first country with which the Republic of Moldova has agreed on the mutual recognition of national vaccination certificates following the efforts of the two diplomats, including through the embassies of the two countries in Budapest and Chisinau.
Recognition of vaccination certificates in order to facilitate the movement of citizens of the Republic of Moldova is a priority on the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, being undertaken in cooperation with the competent national institutions, negotiating actions with foreign partners.
