Moldova's progress in healthcare presented at World Health Assembly in Geneva

Health Minister Ala Nemerenco delivered a speech today at the 78th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, where she presented Moldova's progress in the healthcare sector. She emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation to the current challenges in global health.

In her speech, the minister highlighted the negative impact of geopolitical instability and reducing international aid, noting that global solidarity is essential for maintaining security and sustainable development in health.

The official also presented Moldova's progress in the healthcare sector, including the expansion of access to compensated medicines, the development of stroke treatment centers, oncological screening programs, and digitization of medical services. She also mentioned the ongoing support provided to Ukrainian refugees through ensuring access to medical services.

“These achievements were made possible due to collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Europe,” Nemerenco said.

During the same session, an agreement on global preparedness for future pandemics was also approved.
