President: Moldova and Montenegro on same path – path to European Union
The Republic of Moldova and Montenegro are on the same path – the path to the European Union. This message was conveyed today by President Maia Sandu, who is on an official visit to Montenegro at the invitation of President Jakov Milatović.
The head of state held talks with her counterpart Jakov Milatović, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the President of Parliament, Andrija Mandić.
“We talked about how we can collaborate more closely on this path, so that people in both countries can have a better life. The European Union already brings positive changes through projects and investments. And if we work together, we can achieve even more results. Moldova and Montenegro have much in common and can learn from each other on this European path,” said Maia Sandu.
The official visit to Montenegro takes place after President Maia Sandu participated on May 16 in the sixth edition of the European Political Community Summit, which took place in Tirana, Albania. Additionally, on May 17, in Tirana, Maia Sandu had a bilateral meeting with the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj.
Albania and Montenegro, like the Republic of Moldova, are candidate countries for EU membership. Thus, the visits of the head of state will contribute to better coordination and cooperation in the accession process through the exchange of experience and strengthening of bilateral relations.
