New agriculture and food industry minister of Moldova sworn in office

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The head of the parliament’s commission for agriculture and food industry, Vladimir Bolea, today was appointed to the office of Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, under presidential decree. Bolea took the oath in the presence of President Maia Sandu, the presidential press service has reported.   

Also today, the head of state signed the degree on the dismissal of Viorel Gherciu from the position of agriculture and food industry minister, held since 6 August 2021.

President Maia Sandu thanked Vladimir Bolea for having accepted to take over this important office for Moldova, noting that one of his tasks is to create a resilient and competitive agriculture. ‘’It is not easy, especially taking into account the present challenges; yet, I am confident that you will succeed along with the team,’’ President Maia Sandu said.   

Attending the ceremony of swearing in office was Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita. The PM welcomed Vladimir Bolea in the governmental team and showed confidence that the transition at this ministry would be natural and auspicious for the development of agriculture and food industry.
