Moldovan PM conveys message to Ukrainian people at opening of exhibition dedicated to Ukraine’s sacred heritage

Moldova is grateful to Ukraine for the courage with which it defends its independence and, consequently, the security and freedom of our country. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has made statements to this effect at the opening of the exhibition titled, Rebirth in Glory and Power, hosted by the parliament of Moldova on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s declaration of independence.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan reiterated Moldova’s solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and expressed gratitude for their courage and resilience: “By defending Ukraine’s independence, you are also defending our independence and we are deeply grateful to you.”

“Every time a new warehouse, a new factory, a new building is destroyed, the people of Ukraine say that they will rebuild and repair everything and will prevail in this unjust war. I admire the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people. I am confident that they will overcome this severe trial and will manage to rebuild a more beautiful, more dignified and more prosperous Ukraine,” the PM added.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan firmly condemned the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, urging people not to be influenced by Russian propaganda: “Things are very clear; there is no room for gray areas, there is black and white: we have an aggressor and we have a victim. And I very much want us, in Moldova, to understand this as well, because, unfortunately, there are people who remain influenced by Kremlin’s propaganda.”

The exhibition, Rebirth in Glory and Power, is dedicated to churches and other sites destroyed or damaged as a result of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine. It includes photographs and documentary materials that show the extent of the destruction inflicted on Ukraine’s cultural and spiritual heritage. The opening event was also attended by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, members of the cabinet of ministers, Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Paun Rohovei, as well as representatives of the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” and of the Ukrainian community of Moldova.

The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, in cooperation with the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” and the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity. It can be visited at the parliament until August 26, and as of August 27, it will be hosted by the National Museum of History of Moldova.
