Government increases budget for supporting investments in manufacturing industry to 4 billion lei
The Government proposes extending the State Aid Program for investments in the manufacturing industry and doubling the budget from 2 to 4 billion lei, until December 31, 2036. This measure will allow support for a larger number of projects and will provide companies with additional resources for the development and modernization of production.
Of the total budget of 4 billion lei, 1 billion lei is allocated for grants, and 3 billion lei for tax facilities. Support will continue to be provided through two components: 25% in the form of grants and 75% in the form of tax facilities, through partial exemption from income tax.
The project introduces additional eligibility criteria and strengthens the way projects are evaluated and monitored. At the same time, clearer rules are established for examining incomplete applications or those containing errors, so that support reaches viable investment projects and is used efficiently.
For 2026, the state budget provides 250 million lei for the grant component, with funding to be ensured from European Union assistance and other pre-accession financial instruments.
The results so far confirm companies' interest in this mechanism. By August 5, 2026, 42 applications had been submitted, of which state aid agreements have already been signed for 28 beneficiaries. The approved projects envisage investments of approximately 2.53 billion lei and the creation of 1,572 jobs.
By extending this support mechanism, the Government provides conditions for new investments in the manufacturing industry, the development of local production, and the creation of jobs.
