Independence Unites Us: Moldovan government announces official schedule of events for August 27
The Republic of Moldova on August 27 will mark 35 years since the proclamation of Independence. We invite and expect all citizens to take part in the events on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), in order to celebrate together our country, the freedom and independence that unite us.
The official schedule will start at 08:30, with a flower-laying ceremony at the Grieving Mother monument at the Eternity Memorial Complex. Afterwards, at 09:30, flowers will be laid at the monument of Ruler Stephen the Great and Holy.
The events will continue on the PMAN. At 16:30, we invite all citizens to the military parade, which will involve over 2,000 service members and representatives of the participating structures, and will feature more than 100 units of military and special equipment of the National Army and the Interior Ministry. The concert dedicated to Independence Day will begin at 18:00 and will bring numerous local artists to the stage.
The Republic of Moldova proclaimed its independence on August 27, 1991, when the parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence.
