Energocom company of Moldova announces price of natural gas delivered in last July
Energocom in last July delivered 86,450 MWh of natural gas, equivalent to approximately 8.38 million cubic meters, at a weighted average price of 50.12 euros/MWh at the entry point into Moldova.
The volumes come from forward contracts awarded in auctions organized in 2025 and, partially, from the spot market, in accordance with Energocom’s procurement strategy.
Forward contracts ensure deliveries on the agreed date, while the price for the delivery month is set as a weighted average of the daily average prices in the previous month. By using forward contracts, the costs of transporting, storing and extracting gas from underground storage facilities in neighboring countries are avoided, where only security and commercial stocks are maintained, in line with legal obligations.
According to Energocom, in the procurement process the prices offered by suppliers are linked to the evolution of the main European natural gas index, the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) from the Netherlands. To these are added specific costs for transport, capacity, and other services necessary to deliver the gas to the entry point into Moldova.
